Honkai impact vs honkai star rail9/9/2023 That being said, both combat systems are good and functional, so this is a matter of whether you prefer turn-based combat or action combat. Team-building is still an important aspect of Honkai: Star Rail, but there is admittedly more freedom and variety with the teams you can create in Genshin Impact. In this sense, combat is more about matching enemy weaknesses and adapting to specific boss strategies. They are in the same series, but the gameplay and story is vastly different: Honkai Impact 3 is a mission based beat em up, whereas Honkai Starrail is a semi. Meanwhile, Honkai: Star Rail has turn-based RPG combat, with a weakness system that resembles a simplified Shin Megami Tensei or Persona game. Action-based combat, therefore, is much more mechanical and relies on the knowledge you have of your team, the rotations for your team, and enemy attack patterns. You’ll walk around the open world and engage in combat at will, slashing enemies with your many different weapons and ultimate abilities. Honkai: Star Rail's combat focuses on turn-based strategy similar to most traditional JRPGs, while Genshin Impact features real-time action combat similar to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Combining multiple elements with your skills and abilities can create elemental reactions that increase your team’s damage. The main difference between Honkai: Star Rail and Genshin Impact is their combat mechanics. Honkai: Star Rail is available on PC, iOS, and Android.Genshin Impact has action-based combat with its own unique element system. It’s hard not to admire what it accomplishes, even if it won’t replace your favorite RPG in your heart. If you’re a turn-based RPG or Genshin Impact fan, try Honkai: Star Rail. It also helps that the free characters you get are actually good, so you have serviceable team members from the beginning (sorry, Amber). Story wise, I'm not sure if you are familiar with what I'm going to mention, but it is probably going to be like Nier Automata to Nier Gestalt/Replicant. 3rd is an action rpg and Rails is a turn based rpg. It never took more than a couple of hours in Honkai: Star Rail, even in the beginning. 10 3 comments Best Add a Comment DayneAbraxas 2 yr. I also experienced a more palpable grind in Genshin Impact when I needed to raise my Adventure Rank to move on to the next part of the story. While playing Honkai: Star Rail, the first thing that will stick out is how intricate the characters' outfits are compared to Genshin Impact. Honkai: Star Rail's character clothing design are bold but brilliant. However, it’s enough that I don’t feel like I’m spreading my resources thin with what I get on a daily basis so far. As of May 2023, Genshin Impact has 68 available characters compared to Honkai: Star Rail which only has 22. Honkai Star Rail will appeal to fans of strategy and turn-based gameplay. They all have their own niche and at best share characters/design and lore. Gameplay is fundamentally different from Honkai Impact 3rd or Genshin. There could be some caveats to this, like needing a slightly different ratio of materials. Star Rail is releasing on the same platform as Genshin Impact and is given the same kind of treatment when it come to localization and VAs. Well, Honkai: Star Rail’s equivalent is 20 points higher than the one in Genshin Impact and uses less points than it would for a similar dungeon: only 10 instead of 20. It also doesn’t recharge at a fast enough rate for it to feel satisfying. It caps out at 160 Resin at any time, which arguably isn’t enough. Genshin Impact players have often complained about the resin cap, the amount of resin that players need to claim resources from dungeons and bosses.
